Theme: Many digital archives are releasing their content online with licenses that encourage their re-use. They include different roles, and in particular: from one hand institutional archives releasing content and from the other hand those who are contributors to the archives, those who feature in the archives and the rights they have (even if only moral rights). The latter is largely going to relate to smaller collections but often the very collections that don’t circulate so widely, have most to gain from being more visible within the public domain (and hence securing more presence within our cultural heritage).
However, despite the constantly growing availability of digital content and the movement about public domain and rights licensing for re-use, the actual exploitation of these content is not happening on the market.
