Remix Summit Ltd
Profile of the organisation
The REMIX team are hands-on cultural entrepreneurs, who created and recently sold CultureLabel.com, an ecommerce marketplace funded by venture capital where creative minds find inspiration and shop the greatest art and artist-designed gifts, homeware and accessories from iconic cultural institutions, galleries, artists and boutiques.
The team now manage the global REMIX Summits (www.remixsummits.com) on Culture, Technology and Entrepreneurship. Produced in partnership with partners Google, Bloomberg, Mindshare and the Dubai Design District, REMIX tackles the big ideas shaping the future of the culture and creative industries and is attended by thousands of creative leaders worldwide. Summits take place annually in London, NYC, Sydney and Dubai with media partners including VICE, The Guardian and Time Out.
Our REMIX Agency (www.remixsummits.com/agency) consults for private clients on commercial and digital strategies for cultural and creative organisations – reference cases include the Houses of Parliament, the new £200 million Library of Birmingham, BFI, Bestival, The School of Life, London Evening Standard and policy makers worldwide.
In 2009, REMIX authored the book Intelligent Naivety, exploring new commercial revenue streams for not-for-profit cultural organisations – where better to get on and create great ideas than the space where culture and consumers meet? Available as a free e-book at http://www.slideshare.net/culturelabel/culturelabel-intelligent-naivety
Role in the project
REMIX will be responsible of the organisation of the 6 thematic workshop on monetization which will follow the hackathons. It will then take the results of the workshops into the mentoring and incubation phase to prepare for the market launch of the applications after the end of the project.
